Jewish Hospice & Chaplaincy Network coordinates with a variety of hospices, hospitals, Jewish communal organizations and insurance carriers.
Each of the following hospice programs is licensed by the State of Michigan and certified for Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan, and private insurance reimbursement. Each provides home care, inpatient care by contract, continuous care and respite care and has licensed hospice/nursing home beds. The JHCN staff plays an active role in both staff training and patient case management. Barbara Haddad, MSW serves as JHCN's principal contact to Angela Hospice for both the home care and residential patients.

Rabbi Freedman, who sits on Beaumont's Advisory Board, was recently invited to join the staff of William Beaumont Hospital. Rabbi Freedman works in concert with their staff in the provision of care to the hospital's Jewish patients. Rabbi Avie Shapiro, Rabbi Hershel Klainberg, and Barbara Haddad, MSW are contingent members of the Beaumont Hospice staff and attend patient care conferences. Nathan Shiovitz, a patient advocate, devotes extensive hours to patient care within the Beaumont system.
Cranbrook Hospice is one of the more recent programs to engage the Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network on a formal basis. Training programs are regularly conducted for the Cranbrook patient care staff and administrators. As the JHCN's Program Coordinator, Barbara Haddad, MSW serves as the principal liaison to Cranbrook Hospice.
JHCN has been engaged by Heartland administrators to develop a formal Jewish Hospice program. Heartland Staff receive continuing in-service training from JHCN Rabbis and staff. Rabbi Yerachmeil Rabin works directly with patient care staff and attends recurring patient care conferences.

Rabbi Freedman continues to provide direction to the strong Jewish Hospice program he created at Hospice of Michigan, JHCN rabbis provide spiritual care for all HOM Jewish patients. Rabbi Freedman regularly attends Interdisciplinary group conferences at HOM and Nathan Shiovitz serves on the Jewish Advisory Board devoting extensive hours caring for patients within the HOM system.
Affiliated with The Nursing Home Group, In-House Hospice has formally engaged the Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network as a service provider for Jewish spiritual care. Rabbi Hershel Klainberg provides spiritual care and Barbara Haddad, MSW serves as the principal liaison to their nursing homes located in the northwest suburbs of metropolitan Detroit.
The JHCN rabbis provide pastoral care for Jewish patients enrolled on the Karmanos Hospice program. The JHCN staff schedules on-going training sessions with the Karmanos staff.

St. John Hospice recently partnered with the Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network on a formal basis. Training programs are regularly conducted for the St. John Hospice patient care staff and administrators. Rabbi Freedman, Rabbi Shapiro, and Rabbi Klainberg provide spiritual care for Jewish patients enrolled on their program. As the Network's Program Coordinator, Barbara Haddad, MSW serves as the principal liaison to St. John Hospice.
While Vitas Hospice is new to the metropolitan Detroit area it is one of the largest and oldest hospice providers int he country. JHCN is looking forward to providing pastoral and supportive care to its jewish patients, and scheduling ongoing training sessions with the Vitas Hospice staff.
Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network has developed a strong working relationship with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan. They are an important referral source for hospice and non-hospice patients. In addition, the JHCN has provided training to BC/BS staff related to end-of-life care.
JARC (Jewish Association For Residential Care): The Jewish Hospice & Chaplaincy Network provides all end of life pastoral care to residents of JARC. The needs of these residents with developmental disabilities are often overlooked or misunderstood when facing terminal illness or end-of-life issues of a loved one.
Jewish Family Service (JFS): Jewish Family Service and the Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network have collaborated to create two unique programs to assist in the care of the terminally ill; a volunteer training program and LifeLinks. LifeLinks is a central reference and referral service for health care and social service providers as well as consumers dealing with terminal illness. It is a "Lifeline" linking Jewish patients and families to "what they need, when they need it." In addition to these programs, Jewish Family Service provides office space for Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network, basic technical support, and a broad diversity of social service to patients and families.
